Teaching

Teaching profile

My teaching approach combines conceptual clarity, Bangladesh-focused examples, structured learning materials, responsible student support, and research-informed practice.

I am seeking a Lecturer position in Economics where I can contribute through structured teaching, responsible mentorship, quantitative reasoning, clear learning materials, and evidence-based academic practice.

My instructional experience has developed through project-based training and research-support activities at the National Academy for Planning and Development, the BIAM Foundation Research Center, and the SUST Research Center. These engagements required me to explain research concepts, guide practical tasks, review academic work, and support learners with different levels of prior experience. My M.S.S. thesis, “From Margins to Mainstream: How Socioeconomic Status Shapes Women’s Financial Inclusion in Bangladesh,” gives a direct academic foundation for teaching Financial Economics, Development Economics, Applied Microeconomics, gender and socioeconomic inequality, and public policy.

Students learn Economics most effectively when theory is presented clearly, connected to familiar realities, and reinforced through active problem-solving.

Teaching philosophy

I aim to create a classroom where academic standards are explicit, questions are welcomed, and students understand both the logic of an economic model and its limitations. I would use short concept explanations, Bangladesh-focused cases, guided data exercises, structured discussion, and low-stakes formative checks before major assessments.

Work at the BIAM Foundation Research Center gave me the opportunity to engage with government professionals from Grade 3 to Grade 9 working in taxation, customs, and administration, under a principal investigator employed in government service. This exposure strengthened my understanding of how economic analysis, public revenue, procurement, and administrative decisions operate in practice. I would use these institutional examples carefully when teaching public finance, taxation, policy analysis, and the Bangladesh economy.
